I've been dealing with chronic depression/anxiety for years now, was on all sorts of anti-depressants, but they really didn't help much, I decided to go holistic, and was doing research came across Potion 9™ and it really gave me some relief, not saying that you should stop your meds., but if your looking for a healthier alternative this is it, it was truly a blessing for me.

Earlier today I decided tonight was the night I would finally try Potion #9, a mood enhancement liquid that claims to improve sexual, as well as other social, experiences. The product was sent to me by a friend who has had some amazing sex with his wife after consuming it. I took a glance at the back of the bottle and didn’t recognize a few of the ingredients, so I decided to do a little research (never a good idea to consume something you know almost nothing about).

First on the ingredients list is caffeine; the single ounce bottle contains 200mg of it (about double the amount in an average cup of coffee). Caffeine is the world’s most widely used psychoactive substance; these are chemicals that cross the blood-brain barrier and act on the central nervous system, altering mood and behavior. Kanna, second on Potion 9’s list of ingredients, is also a mood altering substance; it is a wild-growing herb from South Africa that has been used by the people of the region as a mood enhancer since prehistoric times. It is important to note Kanna is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI), so do not consume this product if you are taking any psychiatric medications. Next on the list was 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), an ingredient common in weight loss pills; it has been known to act as an antidepressant and appetite suppressant, as well as a sleep aid. (I suppose that explains the copious amounts of caffeine in the product…more on that in a moment.) The two ingredients that concerned me the most were next: Yohimbine and Vinpocetine. Yohimbine is used in prescription medication to treat erectile dysfunction and orgasm dysfunction in men; it has also been known to incrementally increase the amount of semen in dogs. Yeah, I’m female. And human. Just saying. Vinpocetine, however, concerns me for much more serious reasons. Vinpocetine is a semisynthetic vasodilator (expands blood vessels and arteries, increasing blood pressure) and acts as an antiinflammatory powerful enough to possibly have an impact on Parkinson’s disease. Right off the bat it doesn’t sound like something a healthy woman my age has any business consuming. Further, the substance has caused a single case of agranulocytosis (severe lowering of white blood cell count) and if used regularly, could affect the immune system. However, for the vast majority of people, Vinpocetine is safe, although I still question it’s usage in this application. The remaining, and less scary, ingredients are sugar, ginseng, and stevia (artificial sweetener–not a big fan of those).

After reviewing the ingredients carefully, I was hesitant, but curious enough to drink it anyway. Hubs and I got in bed at 8:30pm, and I consumed a little over half the bottle at that time. Now, by “consumed” I mean choked down. This stuff is disgusting. Very disgusting. I had a very hard time getting it down, which is why I only drank half. Seriously, folks, this stuff makes Robitussin taste like a dessert topping. However, despite it’s taste I downed the other half at 9:15pm.

But let me tell you why…

By 9 o’clock I was giddy as a school girl! I couldn’t keep my hands off Hubby, and for some reason I didn’t want to wear clothes (don’t get that). I would describe it as controlled euphoria, considering I didn’t strip naked and run around the neighborhood like I wanted to or else it would have been uncontrolled euphoria. Either way, for two hours or so life was good, nothing could go wrong, and I had the energy of a teenager. Two hours in, most couples would’ve had wild butt sex and passed out, and Hubs and I would have too except one teensy problem.

Hubs drank a bottle himself once he saw how giggly I was. Thirty minutes later he passed out cold! No sex, no nothing. He just fell asleep sitting up. Of course, he didn’t get much sleep last night, so note to anyone who wants to try it: do not take it if you are exhausted; the caffeine just can’t compensate enough for those sleep aids we discussed earlier. This was especially so for Hubby who consumes a great deal of caffeinated coffee daily, and is somewhat desensitized to it’s effects.

And that was pretty much the end of my experience with it. The effects began to wear down around 10:30 and right now I’m experiencing my usual nighttime drowsiness. I felt no ill side effects after consuming Potion 9, and what I did experience was fun yet short lived (would’ve been a lot more fun if Hubs hadn’t passed out).

Now for the price… Potion 9 is $14.95 for a single bottle. $9.95 if you buy 15 at a time. A special occasion product to be sure, and in fact, I’d say this would be great to give a young couple getting married and about to go on their honeymoon. Also could be fun on anniversaries or birthdays.

There is no doubt about it, Potion 9 improved my mood and made me very touchy-feely. HOWEVER, I personally would not use it again, and here is why: the effects of Potion 9 were, for me, about the same as if I’d consumed about two beers (around $3.00). This is mostly due to my small stature (I weigh about 110), and for someone my size there really is no need to spend more than five bucks to get a little loose. After two beers I’m willing to perform sexual feats that would make Tera Patrick blush, so the $14.95 price tag for Potion 9 just isn’t worth it. That being said, many people swear by it, and I can see why, so it depends on your body and how it works with the different substances in the product. I’d say for most people it’s worth one shot, just make sure you read the warnings on the label before consuming (it isn’t anything too scary; just don’t consume with alcohol or operate heavy machinery, that kind of stuff). Consume Responsibly!

A little testimony here for your business. So, I took Potion 9 and the first time it was, Okay. The second, it was Fabulous! I think it had to do with the time between food and it. I can't eat for 6 hours prior if I want a great effect. I also heard about a product called "Serenity Diva" especially for women. Yeah, It sucked...as in, no change at all. I was supposed to have the effect of ecstasy...NOPE!! So far, Potion 9 is the only thing that has worked for me. My Hubby Thanks You So So very much. I'll keep you posted...I also didn't know MoJo came in a 10 pack...Whoo Hoo!! Go me.
